Cibola vs Silver Umax

Redlance

New member
I currently have a Lobo ST and was thinking of adding a smaller turn on and go detector to my collection. I know with the Cibola I can use all my Lobo St coils, but how is it in comparison to the Silver Umax for versatility, sensitivity and depth?Redlance

In my opinion the Cibola is the silver times 2...the Cibola has outstanding depth and very sensitive to smaller items such as buttons and small coins. its is a very good machine and in my opinion can not be beat for the price. plus you have the added advantage that you can switch coils with the lobo. I use a Tejon and Vaquero and the cibola always comes along as my back up machine.

Since you already have coils for the cibola that makes it more appealing over the S. Umax. With that said, I prefer the silver umax over the cibola, Vaquero, and Tejon. The silver umax is all I need......so my most recent sell is the cibola.

I'm hunting woods and iron infested sites.

I like either of the machines with smaller than stock coils.

Its hard to say either is better than the other, but if you're going for 'bang for buck' its hard to beat the Silver Umax at $240 new.

Tough decision.

I'd say go with the Cibola. If you go with the Silver and decide you need optional coils, you'll spend as much or more than you saved originally as you need to buy umax coils for it and it shouldn't given any better results than a Ciblola.
My two bits,
BB.
