Cibola or Vaquero ,what headphones?

Im new to this forum, my question is , I mainly coin hunt with some relic hunting.Im looking for a new MD and cant decide between the Cibola or the Vaquero. I have read people have had problems with having to constantly adjusting the ground balance on the Vaquero ,is this true. Also what would be a good head phone to use with these two MD.Thanks for any help .

The Cibola has fixed GB. That is why i like the Vaquero better. You can adjust the GB to work best in the ground you hunt. Every Hunter should check his GB often in the field to make sure he can set the detector best to changing ground conditions for max. performance.

I use Killer Bees Headphones and really like them.

I currently use a pair of calrads that someone gave me, and they are adequate. But, my wife just got me a pair of Radio Shack Pro 35a's for my birthday, and the sound coming from them is just incredible! They are very lightweight, with a nice head-cushion(I have a pointy head, and they feel nice on it), and they have an in-line volume adjustment that can really boost the volume. They would certainly be appropriate to use with a MD, plus your stereo at home.

Here is a link I found for them at the rs website:

Thanks rentasquid ,I have a new Vaquero on the way along with Blackwidow headphones, I purchased from Dixie metal detectors, I talked with David Keith ,awesome resource.

and I hope you enjoy your new detector!!!!! Hopefully, snow and bad weather are a long way from you so that you can go out and give it a good workout.

Hold Radio Shack to their posted information! I just read your link and it saus thay have a 90 MONTH warranty rather than a 90 DAY which is the typical RS warranty period. That way they can sell you some extra warranty time. That's a 7

I didnt notice that warranty info until you posted that.:) Thanks! I will have to print out a copy of that and keep it in the box.
They have a straight wire that has a single volume adjuster right before the wires split to go to each headphone (typical of what you would find on a pair of walkman headphones). The wire is approx. 4 ft. from headphone cup to the jack (which is the smaller 1/8 "). The jack is also angled instead of straight. I like them a lot. They may look like the typical cheap walkman headphones, but they are not! The sound is incredible, and I have had a few people here at work confirm that to. But, I still havent tried them on the detector. My wife got them for the stereo, and I have been a little hesitant to take them out and get them all dirty right away. I will try them out tonight and try them on a variety of coins to see if the sound quality is still as good as I think they will be. Oh, they are made by Koss too. Dont know what the Koss equivalence is though.
Thank you for the well wishes too.
