Cibola or Golden Umax

morningstar

New member
I went back on the forum but could not find the answer to this question. I am interested in purchasing a second detector for friends and family to use. Can anyone out there tell me which detector of the two, the Cibola or the Golden Umax, would have less trouble on the salty beach sand? Thank you and God Bless.

Neither would probably do real well in the wet sand at a beach, but both could do well in the dry sand. I would personally go with the golden, but an inexperienced detectorist that would accompany you would probably do better with a single tone. Multiple tones can be a little intimidating for a beginner. The Cibola gets pretty good depth too. Either way, you wont go wrong. Its just a matter of price, and you can pick up a used one of either model in the 225-300 range. Good luck with your purchase Morningstar(aka applehead :))
