Cibola or Compadre

After reading so many posts on both machines they seem great. My question is which would you prefer in parks and possibly dry sand beach hunts in Florida? I was leaning towards the compadre due to the posts about the ease at finding gold chains, but am curious is the sensitivity of the cibola wold be better for the beach sand. hmm

Why dry sand? More good stuff down by the water... Guess I would choose Cibola to cover more ground and go deeper. Sand finds can be deep. If you can afford something with ground balance I would get a Vaquero or a used Eldorado, Cortes, anything with GB. Ability to swap coils would be a plus too. I just got a used Tiger Shark for a good price. That could work for you too.

The Compadre would be best in parks, the Cibola would be best on the beach.

You may want to split the difference and get a Silver UMax.

That's a tough one. NOTHING in the PRESENT lineup of Tesoro coinhunters (that would not include the Lobo gold machine) will find small gold like the Compadre-but just about everyone of them will go deeper than the Compadre. Then again, you wouldn't be bothered as much with the teeny pieces of foil and such that you have to put up with the Compadre to find these gold chains. That's why it's the king of tot lots-where the diggin's easy. Of course, you could turn up the discriminator.

Thanks all. I ended up getting a nice used Cibola. Cant wait to get out and try it out some in the local parks. I guess the best thing to do is find a 5.75" coil for the tot lots, correct? Will have to post after my first hunts to give this little machine a thumbs up.

That is a tough one - I have both and I prefer the Compadre for my hunting. I don't beach hunt, and most of the targets in most areas I hunt are within reach (depth) of the Compadre. The Compadre does me fine for my hunting.
I like the 5.75 coil. I have the 5.75s for my other Tesoro's.
