Cibola or Ace 250 for beach dry sand?

I'm going to the beach today, and own a 250, Tiger Shark, Silver uMax, Cibola, and DetectorPro Pirate. I want to carry 2 machines, and have a bad back, so the Tiger Shark may be too heavy for hours of swinging. I use it IN freshwater. Never hear much talk about using a Cibola at the beach, but it should give good depth. Y'all help me decide on what 2 machines to take...... Thanks!!!!!!!

Actually the TOP contender here is an 82 year old retired man, with an ACE 250 and a sniper coil, in the wet/dry. He also water hunts, when the water is warm enough with a Garrett Seahunter 500, old school! The reason is, he hunts EVERY DAY, if I could show up, he'd be TOAST!

Lots of folks like the Ace 250, and I've had good luck with mine for relics and coins, but it seems that the Cib ought to do a little better on depth. I like to hunt with no disc., and dig it all........decisions.....Thanks.

Thanks, Max. When I water hunt or beach hunt, I dig it all. I guess depth would be my main concern.

Something that pops into my mind is if you are concerned about weight and don't have the stamina to swing like you used to, wouldn't having a super deep machine running and digging deeper holes also be a deterrent? Id' want to see as deep as I could, but not sure I'd go after the really deep ones. I sometimes make that decision when hunting land. I guess you could always turn the sensitivity down if you were going to deep all the time. HH Jim

ace 250 is light, but not as light as cibola

i have heard and read about many many people using the ace 250 in the water...........................ciboal does not like it, but can be used with changes i guess.

not up on current pricing, but i think the ace will be a bit less

Thanks, Jim. You may have a point. I can dig without alot of problems, but I have upper back and neck problems, so the act of walking/swinging takes it's toll on me more than the digging. Actually, it is "refreshing" to stop and dig, but often painful to keep walking and swinging, if that makes any sense. Places that I usually go locally, there isn't alot of area to hunt(for relics and such), so I don't go for long periods of time. But, when you get to the ocean, and see ALL that beach to hunt, you need to go as light and comfortable as possible(at least I do). I'll let y'all know what I find when I get back......Thanks.....Rick

Thanks, Max. I've decided to take my 250 and leave the others at home. The Cibola is lighter and better balanced, but what the heck...Thanks........Rick

[size=large]Since you say dry sand I'm going to pick one of your other machines. Go with the Silver
