Cibola nabs silver ring on first hunt.

I have owned a ACE 350 for 1 month - which has been great - found a mercury head dime last week.

I just recently purchased a Cibola (still holding out for a Silver uMax thanks to Tabman's constant success rate)

I have been pounding a small plot of virgin land used to sell Xmas trees and pumpkins for the past month. I felt I had just about hunted it out with
my ACE 350.. in comes the Cibola.

Right away the Cibola started nabbing clad that the ACE didn't find - it also found the .925 silver ring shown in the picture on its maiden hunt (short 1 hr hunt)

The Cibola has really come thru and is quickly becoming my preferred detector - my son will get the ACE.

I have to admit that the "voice" of the Cibola isn't as impressive as what I have seen with the Silver uMax in Tabman's video - but its doing the job. I am hitting clad deeper and I have to say its much nicer listening to the Cibola as opposed to the ACE beep-boop-ding combination.

I am pretty happy with the analog discrimination which has allowed me to disc out sta-tabs and nickles - but keeps hitting on my gold test ring. So the odds of hitting gold are still there. I hunt a lot of urban soccer fields - so I don't have the luxury of hunting "just above iron" - I have to be careful about how many holes I dig and be fairly certain that I am hitting coins or jewelry.

So .. I am pretty happy with the Cibola - if any one has any tips they want to send my way - that would be awesome.

Looking forward to testing the Cibola at some old home sites that came up blank with the ACE - hopefully the Cibola will hit something.

I hear you on the sound of the ACE , its anoying, great find on that ring,

nice find I have a Vaquero and started to get the Cibola but I like the aaded Ground balance Also Have the Tejon I just got but after using it seems I just have a nother vaquero with dual disc which is nic stops the Thumbing process sometimes . Again Congrats on the Finds and yes if they woul change the tone sound on the garrett s they would be a lot better
