Cibola G.B. mod question

I am not sure if any dealer would do the work,...I doubt it...I would do it for you for $80.00 (you pay shipping my way, I pay it back to you)...If interested, PM me. I have done these mods on my White's Classic II SL, and it made a world of difference in depth and stability...

Just visit my website for the Tutorial on adding GB to your Cibola. I have also included all parts info and part numbers.
Not hard to do at all.
Remember it's crowded inside the control box, not much wiggle room.

Any questions just email me. I believe Keith Southern will also do it, he's done many of them.

10 turn (spectrol) pot ~9$ ... buy pot with plastic knob: easy to cut if too long.
switch about 2$
knob ~2$

so... max 15$ here in Poland.

Easy to do, and no need Tejon with this mod :)

in my opinion... maybe seems slightly conservative and unobjective... best mod Del is to sell it... and buy a detector with GB. US is best country on detectors' manufacture... there are VERY much models having this mods and ground balance... it is not Lithuania I am living having NOTHING on that Del... you have VERY broad choice on detector you wish get... believe me... leave this to a handyman... if you are not nut&bolts.

good luck.

I purchased a modded Cibola from a forum member and think it's GREAT.---Kinda thinking about getting a second one for my wife.----I sure ain't smart enough to do it myself so if I went that route, I'd have to find someone willing to do the mod for me (for a price of course).------Del

I have Darrel.--Spent the better part of an afternoon in my test garden with a comparison test of those 2 detectors (modded Cibola & stock Vaquero).--I have some deep, difficult targets (coins) planted in my test garden.--No matter how hot I set up the Vaquero with G.B., super tuned, max boost--you name it---the Vaquero never even come close to the depth achieved with my modified Cibola.---That's a test with the 9X8 stock coils on both detectors.--I don't put a lot of stock in air tests but my Vaquero air tested a dime at 10+ inches--I didn't air test the Cibola.---My ground is pretty heavily mineralized and I have one coin target that VERY few of my detectors (including our 2 Etracs) can hit with a good enough report that would make you stop & investigate if you were hunting---The only 2 detectors I have that "knocked that target dead" was the modified Cibola & a IDX Pro w/Mr. Bill's mods.----I don't claim to be any kind of expert by any stretch of the imagination but this is what my detectors showed me in my ground in "apples for apples" testing.-------Del

So.. what did Tesoro ? :)
My presumptions below:
They take new circut, tune to ~17kHz = Tejon.
Then take the same circut, tune to ~14kHz - cut a little power + cosmetics (different layout etc.) = Vaquero
Then they fix groud balance, remove knob, and to preserve +/- deep on not correctly balanced ground, they left power of Tejon (different chip than Vaqero) = Cibola.

Maybe truth maybe not - I love my modded Cibola :)

From what I've seen of it Darrel, don't think you could go wrong doing it.---You could really wup ole Loyds butt then!!

Do not scare to try something new and unexpected in your life, like moding your detector, etc.:wiggle:
