Cibola coil options

Looking for a coil to do sports fields and beaches on my cibola. Thinking about the clean sweep but would the new 11 x8 dd be a better choice ? It's a bit cheaper and poss deeper. I'm only after our new steel coins and jewelry

I doubt if you will even be able to find a CSC for the Cibola.---Due to production problems, those coils are no longer made for the 4 pin series detectors.-----The new 11X8" widescan you speak of may be a good candidate for what you want it for.---Yes, it would DEFINITELY be deeper than the CSC.

due to production problems  they are the same coil as the 5 pin, and yes they split but all Tesoro coils are made the same of that ilk I think it was due to low sales and couldn't be bothered problems

so yes great coil gone to waste :ranting: sad for those of us that like them I sent mine in they wouldn't even fix it so had to fix it myself works fine and well the lesson is don't send anything to Tesoro unless you ring 1st.

depends on how much ground you want to cover and how deep you want to go and how much weight you want on the end of the stick  and of cause how much cash you want to fork out?

there's plenty of options available whether a Tesoro coil or a NEL or Detech.

I have mostly Tesoro coils and they work great and I will say that and I will say what I don't like too and nothing is perfect is it , and if we like it or not money rules the roost.

Amberjack----You used to be such a nice kid when you first joined this Forum.----Don't laugh too hard at my "production problem" statement because it is the truth.----Also, you couldn't be more wrong in thinking those coils are made the same.---They have different plugs, yes---but they also are wired altogether different (internal wire set) for the H.O.T. versus micro-max detectors.----The curtailment of sales on the CSC coils for the H.O.T. detectors had nothing to do with low sales (as you indicated).-----There was a problem with the g.b. on The H.O.T. CSC coils and it was too expensive to continue production on them because of this.-----Also, it wasn't that Tesoro didn't want to "be bothered" with coil repairs---but if they can't--they can't.------And for pity sakes, get your facts straight before you start shooting from the hip---all Tesoro coils ARE NOT made the same!----BTW, the Clean Sweep Coils for the micro-max series, Outlaw, etc. are fine---no problems!-----------Del

well I have been told thanks Del.

mine split where the join is like on the 5 pin modals join is in the same spot and they would not fix it, full stop !! and that's what I was talking about as they are made the same the coils with the dimple plastic with the join on the bottom, are all made the same not on the inside and I should have clarified that :clapping:

I know they are different coils inside for hot and max modals.

my problem was not with the insides it was the outsides. and that's the only drama I have had with mine in 5 years.

but I will give you that its a bit of a cow to balance then all big DD Tesoro coils are :lmfao:

so while we maybe looking at the same thing we both see something different and isn't that what makes the world such a fun place :lmfao:

so for me they got slack and well for this coil just to be ended because of slack is slack.

mine had found plenty of gold and silver rings, coins and paid for its self time and time again , so my question is why stop making it ??

production problems is all that's ever been cited and well its their production so they can do as they wish.

just feel sorry for those who missed the experience of using this coil on the HOT machines.

I don't care I have 2 and they will stay with me till someone drags them out my dead cold hands.

so for me its slack taking that experience off others, personally I don't care what they do but if you want something fixed please ring Tesoro 1st before sending it halfway around the world for a non fix and then have to pay to get it sent back.

yeah I was a young naïve kid when I started and now I have been around a while I see some of how some of this stuff works I question everything because its not all like the ad suggests.

but all that aside still love detecting so I put up with the dramas along the way.

Soooo, what aftermarket coil would be best on the cibola .seeing I can't get the 3 x18 . Anyone in Canada know of a dealer?? Pm me

*. The clean sweep is still advertised for both 4 &5 pin. Here.......??? Glad I found out the cibola doesn't pay well with the CS

cibola works great with a CSC in easy ground for shallow targets if you can find one CSC

yeah lots of dealers have them still advertised the 4 pin CSC but none of them have them just to slack to update their websites.

grab a Detech 13" cover ground light and much deeper than the CSC I guess that's what you want to do cover ground ?

what sort of ground do you have ?? that's the most important thing you need to know if its not red dirt or drives the Cibola nuts then any coil will work so have you used the Cibola yet in your area ?

If and when we get rain, our soil is really good no mineralization. I find the stock coil is like hunting with a 3" coil , much different than the compadre. I want to hunt sports fields in the fall, wishing the cibola had a am sw.kinda like vco

that's good your ground is easy so no dramas there, I been hunting a set of 2 fields all winter with the biggest coil 7" so yes It took a long time and I still have targets left but a modern field 30 years old nothing over 5" max.

so don't dismiss the small coils in lieu of no CSC they have done me well with a doz bits or more of silver and 5 gold out of there and yep I dug 100's and 100's of tabs and can slaw well maybe 1000's LOL

so you know there's more than one way to skin a cat and I agree summer isn't dirt digging time.

but look at the Tesoro coils the small ones widescan and concentric , no one coil finds it all and even the 2 x 5.75" coils if there are no targets deeper than 4" might sound tedious but results come when we think a bit different and do some hard work :bouncy:

yep I am probably loopy as a tree snake but getting results and that's what counts as it adds to the fun of it all really :bouncy:

Vaquero is probably good for AM but if you want a CSC a earlier modal µmax with a GB or even pick up a cheap silver and put the CSC on there they still make the 5 pin CSC.

yes it costs money but Tesoro's do the business and compared to other brands they are cheap enough.

see I give them a rap when they deserve it

time is the greatest tool any detectorist can have it finds more goodies than anything else.
