Cibola Battery Drain??

pine3874

Well-known member
I just recently got a Cibola and noticed that the battery only lasted about half as long as the one I have in my Bandido II

Tesoro operation manual states that the typical running time for the Cibola with it's 9v battery is 10-20 hrs.

I have tried all the batteries that I have been able to. At the least 15 different brands, Not running it hot either. thresh at 12 O'clock or just a tiny buzz, sens about 8. Best I ever got was maybe 15 or 16 hrs. When I ran the machine with threshold and senitivity cranked, I have gotten 3 beeps as soon as 5 and 6 hrs with a duracell. They will slightly recharge after a day or 2 so that I can get a few more hours in on light duty detecting.

Running in AM will drain the battery faster. Not using headphones will do the same.
I usually get about two 5-6+hr hunts using a Duracell. Have been getting amazing time with the lithium rechargebles.
You will get more hours doing short hunts (2-3hrs) than you will doing long hunts (7-8hrs).
You should average at least 12hrs with a new Duracell.

From my experience, dont be surprised if the Cibola eats through the batteries faster than your Bandido II uMax. HH

must be lucky , use the energizers 9v been good so far mostly hunt parks late spring to late fall but were in southern california so the bit about the AM weather hunts out here at least are still warm ... all have a great year finding the BIG value jewelery

take care
