Church donation of finds?

Redlance

New member
Has anyone donated their silver and gold finds to a church? I'm thinking of doing so as they are only trophies and collecting dust. Might as well do some good. How do you go about it? Redlance

Hello Redlance and welcome to the forum and glad to have you posting with us! As far as donating your gold and silver finds to the church, I would first turn them in for cash at their true value and then donate all or part of it to the chuch or better yet, I would find some pourer families....there are always some needing help now and at Christmas....and use the monies as a helping hand to them and I'm sure the Lord would bless you mightily for doing good deeds and providing for the poor! May you receive the cash for the right amount of what your finds are worth and bless someone or others with some needed finances! We have a family in need on our forum and you might consider them through prayer and God's guidance!

Steve in AZ could help you with where to send your finds for cash, as he has had good luck with those he deals with when turning them in for cash!

God Bless!
Betty

Hello Redlance - I have a good place to cash in gold & silver if you want to, like Betty says. As for me I keep the gold & silver but send the recent coinage dug to the Godspel Rescue Mission. steve in so az

Steve, My finds really wouldn't amount to much, perhaps $200 scrap gold value. Can I have the buyer issue a check in my church's name, instead of my name. I'd rather keep it anonymous. Redlance

I would think that you could. Send to :

Midwest Refineries
4471 Forest Ave.
Waterford, Mi
48328

I have dealt with them about 7 times and always happy, Steve in so az

Looks like Steve and Betty have directed you well. Where ya from?

God bless!

Dobbie is from CA.

Hello Steve, First of all, I want to thank you for the recommendation for a refinery to send my scrap gold and silver. I sent in my collection for the summer and a few Items that were collecting dust, today. I'll let you know about the experience. I'm sure with the holiday seasons coming up that the money will be a blessing to all who partake of the proceeds. Take care, Redlance
