church digs

anything inappropriate with detecting the grounds of an old church? i mentioned it to someone and they thought it was somehow immoral... not the cemetery .

don't know how it could be immoral-the building is not the church, the members are.
I've hunted church, yards/parking lots, & graveyards for around 40 years in many states-but I ask, first, when possible.
After all, you are just scratching the surface.

thats what i thought, it hadnt occured to me that it may offend someone , thought i'd ask and see if anyone
else has ever gotten any flack... i always
ask permission, and introduce myself.

As a Pastor I get to hunt churches all the time (just got 3 more to do today). Make sure you get permission. Some church people are very particular about who is on "their" property. Be gentle with the digging, replace plugs well and if you find anything that can be returned like a ring try and do it. This will enable you to be able to hunt more churches by showing you care.

yep thats all standard protocol with me...
