Chrysler bulletin .........

Tom in Victoria

New member
........on my new 2007 Dakota with the 3.7 engine ( 5000 km. .... approx. 3000 miles) ... torque coverter a dud ! I suspect the problem may be common to other Chrysler products with the same engine/trans. combo. Worth passing the info on to friends. I told dealership of rough and funny shifting; they phoned later to tell me I was right ! Seems strange though, that they just happened to find the bulletin this morning on the 2007's !

I knew I was right , heck, I even married Miss Wright ! Too, too late, I learned her middle name was Always right !

Hi Tom,

I have a Dodge/Chrysler product myself (the fast one with the 450HP V10 :ninja:). You can go to their website and punch in your VIN to see if there's any product bulletins/recall notices on your particular vehicle.

I have owned a few 3.7 dodges as far back as a 93. I never had any trouble with motors (200,000 miles or more on each), but trannys were leak. There a real leak weld on torque converters just in front of the front seal. The most I got out a tranny was 145,000 miles.

.........whole trans. pkg. at approx. 9000miles, my '98 also a 3.9 was OK. ( Both traded off at approx. 100,000 miles). I have not got the details on the '07 3.7 dud yet.
