Christmas Eve...for 98!

Hi guys

been out a few times in the last week or so since my previous post. The conditions are really changing here in NZ - the beaches are now sanded in, so are travelling a little further to try and reach the magic 100 before 31st Dec 14!

from left to right in the attached image:

18 Carat - 5.5 Gram old ring - from the UK, found in a washout, not super deep in the water, was REALLY happy with that one, as I think the last 5 finds or so have been TINY 9ct signet rings :( It was tough last month!

18 Carat - found a few minutes ago - tonight after rough weather - a really lucky find. I found 2 coins in 1 hour, about to give up and then hit a really solid signal on the surf line - 7.6 grams - awesome! :clapping:

9 Carat - very old ring with a stone (agate?) - this was pretty black and found also in a washout on the same day as the 1st ring mentioned above. Found in the same 2m * 4m washout. Hit it with the dremal tool to clean it up :)

9 Carat - rose gold, 4. something gram gold ring, found yesterday at Waiheke Island with a friend (we boated across)! Again in a washout on the surf line :) Looks fairly old!

9 Carat - a reasonably modern ring and the cheapest of the lot (also from yesterday) - made worse by "scoop damage" - I think I almost cut it in half with over zealous digging! 2 grams approx....hmmm, need to bend it back!

Now to convince the wife to let me out on Christmas day (probably not!!!) - still, there is always Boxing day!!!

Merry Christmas from NZ to the ATX forum members!

(the second pic shows better hallmarks of the 18ct 's)

Holy Moly! :surprised: Those are some really sweet 18k's there! Great work! Get that 100 and then take a little break...what an awesome accomplishment!:clapping:
Mud

Nice pic on the left there dmnz!!! The lush green in the background contrast nicely with the gold-ness:bouncy: Man, we are pulling for you to bring home #100. And I'd say, one cut in half counts:biggrin:

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Had a super family from NZ as Thanksgiving guests a couple years ago.

I don't think there is anything left - went yesterday and today trying to get to 100......two more silver....need some luck on my side for the next few days! Had a 4:30am rise this morning to head to the beach, however the weather is against us - rough, murky water, not nice for detecting!
