Chest mount/hip mount cz20?

Just wondering how you guys are hip mounting or chest mounting your cz's?? Love this machine but I can't stand the weight of the unit. Is there a cheap easy way to do this?

There is a factory belt mount that slides into the detector where the shaft mount slides in. That belt mount fits a wide web belt. The wide belts work well for hip mounting. I had one, however, after getting knocked over by a wave that spun me around while under the surface, wrapping the coil cable around my legs, I built a balanced straight shaft and have been hunting with that ever since. There have been a couple of guys who have made custom chest mounts. The Fisher chest mount lets the detector flop around. I tried the Fisher chest harness and did not care for it.

Picture is of my CZ20 on the cobbled together shaft I made from parts and pieces. I now have a handle with a longer hand grip on it than in the picture, but otherwise, the detector has not come off that shaft since 2009.
Cheers,

Nice yeah I really think with the unit under the shaft it would be less weight and greater balance. I like this. Maybe I will try this

Cheap and Easy? I'm yer huckelberry!

Heres what I did with a plastic trolling motor battery box I had laying around...A guy could wear it on the chest as pictured, or thread a wide dive weight belt through the slots and hip mount it...it was great with that wide profile displacing the weight comfortably....I preferred to hip mount it..when chest mounted using those suspenders, I would clip the other lower suspender hook through the lower hole on the plastic...it didnt flop around at all, but I liked how the hip mount worked...take note of the dimensions, and whip one up in about 10 minutes...

I hip mount mine wading and diving and love it. I never mess with the settings or the pinpoint button.
