Chest mount/Hip mount/Balance Shaft/Overunder?

What do you guys use and why?

I just got a Excal2 and am not sure I want to stay with the original shaft set up and mounting of pods. What do you guys do and why?

I recently went through the same as you with a new Excal 2
I got a Pluggers chest mount and am very pleased, it is comfortable and makes the shaft and coil so light...you cannot go wrong with one of these but I do get a few looks from people on the beach as it looks a bit different to a usual detector.
I will probably save up and also get a straight shaft set up because the angle of the grip on the original shaft is not as good as it could be, its not too unbearable or anything but could be better.

My friend has a straigh shaft set up and with the pod behind it is more balanced but IMHO the whole outfit is still on the heavy side for hours in the water.
good luck

Plugger Travel Model, makes the machine balanced and more comfortable to use. The chest mount would be even a better choice for longer use without fatigue.

and with the coil wire clamp you dont stress the joint.

Wow, Thanks for the input.
