Chesapeake Bay Hunting for the month of May

Retired now so more time to enjoy hunting the local Private beachs...Some are tuff to get to and you must cross dangerious areas. But hunting is good once you get there....The best of it from about 5 hunts for the month of May. From two different beach's....one is beach is dated around the 30's to late 70's, the other beach not sure, lead toy and V nickle "1910",... guessing around the early 1900's this one was in use...only been there once but alot easier to get too.

Nice finds Joe. Question, what makes it dangerous getting to them, snake infested, man or animal? I used to hunt an area full of wild pigs, always carried a gun with me and never strayed too far from my truck. Good hunting. John

The walk to get there, about a 1/2 mile thur woods, which don't bother me to much, but then you have rocks you have to climb down which were put in place to stop erosion. They are large and slippery, coming and going. One can easily fall trying to get across them, and most of the Beach's here have them since most are private. With in a few months my boat will be in the water so I'm looking forwards using it. Will make life alot easier. Here is a picture of one's similar...

nice finds obn.... glad you are enjoying your retirement..... i know you have had this boat/ detecting plan in the works for quite a while.... live the dream-best of luck to ya....

Too bad we can't use felt soles for grip on the rocks. State made them illegal a while back. I've sat down and just slid my big butt across the rocks til I got to the water. Nice older stuff you are finding! Your research is paying off.
Cheers,
tvr

You got to cover some ground and obstacles to get there, but it looks like its done you well.bad ankles and knees would keep me out of there.Good Luck

Good work there man! Yeah, boat...good way to hunt and pack all sorts of gear...didn't you get a zodiac of some sort?

Did OK Joe, looks like you found some nice stuff, HH

Don't know how I missed this post. Looks like you had a fine May hunting, with some very interesting finds. I'm sure there is plenty of gold in the bay and you're the just the pirate to plunder it.

I hope retirement is everything you thought it would be and more, I know it was/is for me.
