and here they are......

She didn't care if they were rusty or not...to her they were rings just the same.
We hunted Saturday evening in a field as we were trying to narrow down where the activity was...and trust me...we didn't find it.
We had fun though and that's what matters. She has really gotten into detecting and switches back and forth between the Whites XLT...my Etrac...and my SE...and she enjoys the variety. I told her to dig anything that sounded like a "high pitched tinkling sound"..and my sage advice netted her the 2 sweet rings with the SE.

Sunday we met up with my dad and trust me..."Pops" was ready to dig some treasure.
We went to an old ballfield/concession area that looked promising...and they both had a blast.

Sheryl found a ton of clad and one wheatie at about 7".

My dad rarely gets to hunt with me anymore as he is on dialysis and just honestly doesn't have the strength. When he does though...it's just like old times and he tries to outdo me. He says he can still hunt circles around me ...and that's fine by me. I hope he has many more seasons of hunting left in him...and I will cherish each and every time he smokes me on the finds.

He ended up getting just one wheatie on the day which might not sound like much...but I have done some field testing here and really hammered the place. Pops sniffed out one that I missed...and YES...he let me know about it.

I ended up the weekend with a few silvers...a few wheaties...and 2 injuns...but this post is not about my finds. It is about enjoying some rare hunt time with my Dad.
I will just post one pic of one of my finds...a very simple wheatie. What makes it special is because I called Pops over to let him hear what my SE was saying over the undug target. I told him it was either gonna be an old coin hiding in iron OR a big piece of iron,,,but I felt about 75% sure it was gonna be a coin.
When I dug it up...his face lit up like a Christmas tree because it was a wheatie which was actually completely engulfed and laying inside of an old iron wheel of some kind. The clod fell apart and opened up right when i was trying to take the pic...but trust me...the wheatie was 100% covered by the little wheel. Dad just smiled as did I when the wheatie rolled out from inside.

Those of you who are lucky enough to have a parent, or parents that enjoy the hobby with you....CHERISH it while you can.
I won't ever forget the memories I have shared with my "pops" over the years. Memories, moments, and fun are what it's all about for me...finds are 100% secondary.
Thanks for viewing and enjoy as much hunting as you can before the cruddy weather heads your way.
