I think it's silver, but I can't tell for sure. Don't think it's gold. (Sure wish it was)
I'll try to get some pics up. Hope it works. There are lots of tiny scratches on the inside of the band.
Does silver scratch that much?

Paul

No marking on the inside ?
Congrats on that find.
Could be silver if its marked on the inside.

I can't see any engraving on the inside of the band. It came out of the ground clean. Was about four inches down.

First and foremost nice find...you are going to find many junker rings to be found and your jeweler or dealer can tell in a heartbeat...As far as markings some real old or foreign expensive rings have no markings...

First rings are always an exciting find, along with #2, #3,.... Nice find. Congratulations. Keep on keeping on. Dig that silver or gold one. Do a happy dance and say:
ON TO THE NEXT

Congrats on digging your first "mood" ring. I've dug a pile over the years, none of mine have been silver. Still, any hunt with a ring is a good hunt.

Congrats. Those rings with the plastic around them like that are usually not silver. I've found about 100 of them and none have been silver. Hope yours is, though.

Chris

Turn your detector on and wave the ring in front of the coil. If it reads dime or quarter it is probably silver, if it reads lower then its not.
