I was changing my 9 volt battery last evening when it occured to me that have had one going on to 4 years, and it still works great. The yellow paint is slowly fading and wearing off, but the electronics work great. I have used all of the above, and have had eventual problems with each of them. The tuning knobs wear out, they don't function well in the cold, they break along with other issues.

However, the Garrett Pro Pointer just keeps on beeping along.......definitely a well designed piece of equipment.:please:

John, I would have to agree with you 100%, I purchased a Pro Pointer this spring (I'll never be without one again!) if its any thing like my GTA's, Duracell won't be making any money on me!
Garrett is the only equipment I ever used, I started with it and I will finish with it! maybe be buried with it! (I'm sure my wife won't mind). All kidding aside, Garrett makes high quality equipment, that
is easy to use and lasts forever. The Service Department is second to none! HH....C-Dog

They work too well John. I realised that I hadn't used my Pocket UniProbe since I've had mine so pulled the battery out of it to give the UniProbe a bit of a run. I took the Pro pointer out with me yesterday, went to locate my target but no response. No battery. It was hard to find targets after being so accustomed to using the Pro pointer.
Mick Evans.

Can't tell you how many times I've picked up my tool belt upside down and heard my propointer hit the ground, floor, cement asphalt, etc. I fearfully pick it up and turn it on and it always gives me that reassuring 'Beep-beep. That is one tuogh little machine. I might also mention that I use maybe two bateries in a summer while my Ace 250 will go through 5 or 6 or more sets.
