Checking in - I'm still alive

We had our first house church meeting Sunday. Sherry and Casey provided the music (electronic keyboard and Casey leading the songs), Ken provided the communion message before we enjoyed communion together, Ken's wife Carol was our hostess and shared her and Ken's home for our meeting, I provided the main message. It all turned out wonderful and we had another couple there as well. So 7 of us - make that 8 - attended this meeting (Jesus was in our midst).

The church we attend in Harrison is doing the 40 days of Purpose Driven Life program. We are enjoying the time with each other and individually as we let God give us more direction in our lives.

Not much activity going on in our shop so putting our trust in God to get the bills paid as they come in. We know by spring things will be much better its just getting through the winter is our concern. Casey is still living with her Dad. She comes to visit us and that just feels so wrong - along with her Dad telling us we cannot take her to church. We pick her up after church - again - that is not right.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and the neighbor who has a garden was gathering up leaves to burn and add to his garden for nutrients for next years crops. I talked with the neighbor and told me to bring over the straw (had 2 bales fall apart on me and didn't know what to do with them) and any leaves I had to add to the piles. Had the wonderful smell of burning leaves from about 7 different leaf buring piles from neighbors all over the area up here. Couldn't see much because of all the smoke but sure smelled nice. And was glad to be rid of those bales of straw.

We made a trip to my mother-in-law's the other day and loaded the trailer with all the stuff we had in her garage since we moved up here. The van and trailer will packed to the gills. We got about a block away and had a flat tire on the trailer. Amazingly (knowing God though it isn't that amazing - smile) we were able to get it off the road and park it in Sherry's aunt's cottage driveway which was like 'right there'. We had to make several trips to unload the trailer to the van then the van to the garage but we got it done before it rained. Yesterday we were able to go retrieve the trailer - had a spare but no tools to change it when it went flat. Being such a beautiful day seemed only right to fix the trailer and bring it home.

Well gotta run again. Not able to keep up with all the messages so will say Welcome to those who are new here and will pray that God protects and keeps you all and meets your needs.

Keep the faith, and keep on keepin on! Praying for ya also! :)

for you, Sherry & Casey. Someone or many are praying for Casey and her dad and that is why he is balking at her going to church! When prayers get heavy for the sinner, then the sinner gets even more hateful....so just pray for them and live the life of Jesus before them and all who need Him to make their lives more enjoyable here and be saved for living in heaven someday! No prayer or witnessing ever goes to waste!

Good to hear from you and keep the faith and never let satan get you down no matter what you or I must face during our mortal life!

God Bless!
Betty

good to hear from you Pete.I also love the smell of burning leaves and not to many places let you burn any more unless you live in the country.
