Checking In - and question

Ive been doing some dirt digging lately and really enjoying it. I have started to use the stock Hi Pro with a like new D2 I have been using the 950 so much it's almost worn out. When I put the D2 on I was amazed it barely had a scratch. What I am finding is this machine is so sensitive that I believe most complaints people have are due to bad ground. I have hunted some parks that have me scratching my head and others that are smooth as silk. I am so surprised how much the dirt can vary and what a difference it makes in depth and target response.
My question - I never hear the ML guys talk about bad ground. It appears at least to me that they just go out and dig. Is it that I just don't spend enough time on other forums. Am I sorely mistaken.

Here is a photo from my last dirt dig I was pleasantly surprised. 8 wheat 2 mercury dimes and a 1953 quarter. Also dug many old time pull tabs known as beaver tails. The lead soldier was really deep @ 8 to 10 inches.. I thought it was a can or a big piece of trash when it came out of the hole I thought it was a derringer. I have to thank a fellow forum member who gave me this spot. I don't know his screen name but his real name is Patrick. Pat if you read this please PM me. Note the cut from run off on the hill. Very productive this is from an hour and a half. It shows real promise. Bet you didn't think places like this existed a mile or so from Down town Manhattan. PS. I didn't use my headphones because I needed to know what was around me at all times.

I ran my SE at one site on my trip and there was no way I could quiet it down. I use them both and each detector has it's + and - . I won't compare them but each has a purpose for me.

I think the only reason they don't complain about bad ground is they don't have any options to deal with the ground other than reduce the sensitivity or use smaller coils. Being a ML guy myself, the Auto sensitivity will range from 31 to 7 depending on how bad the ground is. This is a lesson for the V users too.......... if the ground is bad reduce the Sensitivity and or Gain and you can still hunt. It just will not go as deep as a higher Sensitivity settings. We are lucky with the V3i with options that will help keep the sensitivity higher like adjustable filters and hunt modes like correlate.

Thank you guys. I have never run anything other than a whites machine.
