Check some of those iffy signals

I got a strong but strange very erracted signal . VDI lows to highs. I started not to dig and walk away. Decided to dig and guess what the AT PRO sniffed out?
I learned from another post that the gap in rings will make it not have a solid sound. 925 silver- cleaned up very well. Do anyone know what type of design this is?

I agree.. The same sort of thing happened to me today with the AT Pro & the 6.5X9 coil in a really iron infested trashy sight. I dug it anyway and it was a girls 10K Gold class ring from 1975. I too almost passed it by due to the sound and VDI numbers.

U never know especially in Iron infested ground, or like U with the ring with a gap in it, strong and bouncy signal. What does the average hunter do? Probly pass it up and wait for the magic audio and vdi .. I found one of my coolest finds(gold filled pocket watch) with a jumpy signal . The Audio signal would lock on and the VDI would correspond, but then lose it a secon later like nothing good was in the dirt, checked it with the Iron audio feature and it and it sounded off with a grumpy Iron tone. But I dug that iffy signal because the machine lock on to it for a bit.

I'm guilty. In one of our hunting spots there is so much trash and cans I get sick of digging junk and only dig good signals. But in some other spots, well, we tend to go for it there...

nice ring reddog!

I am going to search my previous hunted site again before I move to another location but the next time I am going to dig more than the strong signals. I just know that there are more goodies out there. I hunt in a natural lake and only God knows what's out there. There are several spots where I got some strong signals VDI 69 to upper 90s . I dug a least two feet or more but I still didn't find anything. Maybe it is just deep iron or an anchor or something but the PRO doesn't grunt while detecting it. I am curious to know what it is.

Mine seems to be having the same problem - it see's all the way to china through black sand and crud

Eventually I get to the bottom ofthe hole and there is something there
it could be two feet or more but there is something there
if it had a bigger coil it would be creepy and i would need a back hoe

The area that I dig down to is black sand also. I am thinking about carring a long probe with me the next time and see if I can feel anything with it.

This is another one of those broken deep signals. I think it used to be silver plated. It is a WMA Rogers Oneida LTD spoon ring

This one had a VDI OF 53 (which is usually a pulltab VDI) with a depth of 10+ before I removed the first scoop of dirt. The AT PRO ( the beast) gets good dept in fresh water, my primary hunting. My finds today 13 quarters,(seems to be a lucky number for me) 14 nickles,11dimes, 44 pennies , baby photo on an aluminum disc and a foriegn coin that reads Calos I Rey D Espana on the front and Cien Pesetas on the back 1983. (school me someone one this coin).

Here is the info on the 100 Pesetas coin , its from Spain and was apperantly demonetized 02-28-2002

I buried a dime a least 8'' on the beach today and packed the sand really good and still got a repeatable signal even though it was broken. So listen carefully. The AT PRO detects deeper than a lot of people think. All good signals will not be a solid tone with a good VDI. I learnt this from experience.
