i found one in a dumpster at a renevated home. 1967 no name.

you should attempt to find the owner at the condo complex,and explain to him/her that the guitar was a simple fix,and give it back!..i am sure when they tossed it,they did NOT realize the fix was simple,and therefore the guitar didn't need to be disposed of!..god will bless you for this!

How about running a classified ad in the paper?

Saying that something found in the trash should be cause to search for the person who obviously wanted to dispose of it is not "niceness".

It sounds more like busybody self-righteousness to me.

It has nothing to do with honesty or integrity which I'm always glad to applaud.

I'll also applaud a great find by John using the detector between his ears!
