This 'rock' is HIGHLY magnetic and except for one very small spot,in pic #4 no rust on it.
All i did was rinse the dirt off after i dug it.

Mmmm...could i finaly have gotten an elusive hank o' space rock?

There is a spot that looks like the outline of a Space shuttle...
When I first saw the first pic, I was thinking Axe, now I am not sure...It has iron content if it is magnetic...I would take it to your local university and inquire a few professors...

HH,

how far from any train tracks did you find it?

It is not the head of an old golf club. The second picture has that shape to it.

Found on sand near a beach, or golf course?

not a meteorite...

probably a hunk from an plow....

Hi Jim, Man that thing must be very old, with all the layers scaling off. Looks hand forged, shaped by "heat and beat". I have "heard" that some iron objects laying in the ground in a particular direction (N-S ??) for many years can become magnetized. I heard that long ago and have no idea if it is true or not,and never researched it. HH,Charlie
