Some lens.

Hey RM ... I'm looking into getting my first DSLR. Can't decide between Canon XTI or 30D or Nikon D40x or D80. Would love the D200 but it's out of my price range. Any thoughts? Then I'll have all the questions about affordable lens to get. :stars:

Good evening.

I had the Digital Rebel XT for over a year and I've recently purchased the Digital Rebel XTi.. Quite a difference between the two! I like the XTi much better already. The menus are far more friendly and overall easier to use.

Keep your eyes peeled when you're buying so you don't end up with a gray market camera.. Be certain you're getting one with the one year Canon USA warranty.

The native size on the largest setting of the XTi is 3,888 wide, so it's nearly five times as wide as the photo that I've included! Leaves you plenty of leeway for cropping and such!

Best of luck,
Bob

... finally pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago and ended up with the Canon 30D primarily by comparing the various models hands on in several local shops ... and the added incentive of the rebate Canon is offering. I know it's a model that's about to be replaced but I think it has all the things I feel are important and should be a step up from my Canon A95 point & shoot.

Hopefully I'll enjoy it.

Thanks again for the input ... Gord SW Ont.
