Cheap way to waterproof and protect your deus

I have tried a few ways to protect my investment but found this to be a real cheep way to do it. Easy to clean, easy to adjust, and you can toss it when it gets too beat up...Oh and adds NO WEIGHT:beers: Now it's time to hunt!!!

I have done that very thing with my Whites V3i. There is one problem that showed up on the V3. If you hunt several hours in the rain, humidity in the air tends to migrate up inside the ziploc bag since it cannot be completely zipped closed. I actually had water condense inside the clear screen protector on the V3. Didnt hurt anything, just let it dry out once I got home and all was fine.

On the V3, The display head does not contain the electronics, only the display. The Deus controller most likely contains a micro circuit board and I don't know the moisture limits it can take.
The bag method probably will work for an hour or so and in a light rain. A good water proof cell phone case or the one XP has might be best.

Good temporary idea though. Light and cheap.

I don't use it for the rain I use it to just protect it from getting hit and from dirt

I found a water proof bag for your Smart phone works awesome.I got a box of 2 at radio shack for under 10 bucks. I cut a tiny slit in the bag and attach the control unit to the shaft. The bag has a zip lock seal on one end ,99% waterproof. If not for the slit to mount on the shaft,it would be 100% waterproof.Ive used these bags for my cell phone. They work well for boating, water activities.HH Jim T
