Chauffeur's pin...Bucket lister crossed off!

REVIER

Well-known member
Combing an area I have hit before but this time with a new big Cors Cannon coil.
The coil zeroed right in but this was lucky, I was looking for silver so I had the disc maxed on the F70 but notched in just nickels in case I came across old nickels or gold.
Luckily this thing is made of nickel.
A solid 28-29 on my Fisher.

At first I thought it was an old child's sheriff's badge, a toy, but it was really thick and heavy.
It was black and dirty like most old nickels usually are but I scrubbed it as much as I could in the field until I could make out the word chauffeur...barely, and then I smiled.

According to this collector's site...
http://www.chauffeurbadges.com/8.html

This style was made from about 1915 til about 1921 and then they changed the shape every year after that.

I am in Birmingham so I have no idea how it got here but I can still cross it off the bucket list for sure.

First great find of 2018...hopefully more to come.

Nice REVIER.

I see the Canon/Thunder is paying off.

Thanks all!

Limited amount of time with this coil but so far it seems pretty stable, relatively quiet, very sensitive and hopefully it will show me some decent depth in my challenging soil.
Very optimistic so far.
