...via member messaging. I hadn't seen him post in awhile and was concerned about how they were doing. He asked me to relay his reply to let you guys know that he is alive and well but very busy. He wrote the following:
"Been barely able to spend time on the computer. When the grandson is here all attention is on him...if I try to use the computer instead of playing with his toys he wants to use the computer to play YouTube videos of Wheels on the bus go round and round. Working nights (midnight to 8 am - or longer) keeps me away from the computer at night and hard to follow CMD on my Droid X phone...haven't had much time to do that at work either. Just about work nonstop all night taking care of 6 handicapped guys in the Adult Foster Care home.
When I get home I try to get on line to see what is happening outside of my little world and as soon as the computer powers up - my eyelids power down and I fall asleep. I now call my computer Melatonin (the drug that helps people to sleep).
So many projects to be done and they keep getting more and more. Still haven't gotten any of the lawnmowers to work and the weeds are between knee and waist high in places. Have to get the grass cut. Have some electronics to get installed. Just installed an air conditioner in the bedroom so I can sleep (starting to feel like Vietnam all over again - 6AM to 10 AM is the only time we could sleep. Nightime the enemy was out and after 10 AM it was too hot to sleep). Washing machine over flowed so had to clean up the mess only to have to do it again when it overflowed a second time. Sundays are days I should enjoy but between playing a roadie for Sherry's keyboard and stuff, having Mom in Law over, Leelan coming to visit I hardly get any sleep before going to work Sunday night. (Don't get to enjoy being in the House of the Lord as much as I used to). Oh yeah have to fix Sherry's music keyboard (another project) as the house current plug in broke on the circuit board. Just got the cat to and back from the groomer yesterday morning and afternoon. Just so many things going on I can't keep up.
So I am alive (in Christ) and doing well otherwise...just found out last night the lady who works the night shift when I have days off has quit and they have no replacement for her and even if they did they have to let me train that person since few people work the night shift and have a clue what needs to be done. So probably overtime and less time off.
I pray that all things are going well there for you and the family. Praying for all who have needs that God abundantly meets their needs. Sorry I haven't been able to participate in the forum. Miss everyone and I know there are a lot of new Brothers and Sisters in Christ joining the forum who I have yet to chat with. God bless everyone.
I should be sleeping now and still haven't eaten all day. Oh well. Love you all and God bless. Pete in MI."
Also, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Brian and our family. Brian has been in intense pain the last 10+ days and the hospice staff have been awesome trying to help alleviate his suffering. Our hospice nurse just called and she is coming over this evening to discuss some new options (drugs) that might help.
Thanks,
Doug
