CHART for newbies like me??

I'm looking for a chart that shows what US coins were made out of and when (like when quarters were all silver, etc.). I looked on the internet but couldn't find anything. Anybody have any ideas?

THANKS in advance!

There may not be any charts available, but a good source is (i think) called Red Book for coins. It gives pictures, descriptions, values, and what you are mainly looking for...the material used to make the coins. Hope this helps you! HH!

You can buy a 2008 Red Book for about 12 bucks. If you're not terribly interested in the current values get a previous years. I see them at used book stores for a buck or less. Has all the info you'll ever need.

Coin Facts has all of the coin info including composition, dimensions and weight. There is a lot of other great info available on all US coins there. I Hope this helps!
