Charles I took your advice about screw caps

I took your advice for the last two days and dug screw caps. Yesterday I found a screw caps and then stouck my pinpointer in the hole - there about two inches into a side wall was a clad dime. No big deal, right? Today I located two different screw caps and in one hole was an old memorial cent under the screw cap by an pinch or two. The secomnd crazy find was a nickle on the side wall after I recovered the screw cap.
Now these are normal clad coins but hey - you were right about what is hidding under or near the trash.

Hey BT... where were the screw caps showing on your screen? Were tge pure screw caps or was the ID moving around due to the other targets??

Tim, these hit below the dime on my Exp II, the display did't bounce, the numbers moved a bit but not much.

What I didn't state in that post was I dug a total of five or six screw caps yesterday and got two coins while I was testing.

When it comes to target ID, dig weird, dig odd behaving, very often co-located targets or in some cases a target consisting of 2 or more types of metal. I was looking through my old finds recently, found a thumbscrew off I'm guessing a musical instrument. The screw was rusted and obviously ferrous, the top was solid silver.

Charles, yeah, I agree - if the machine bounces all over I do investigate. I do find many small iron stuff in the same hole with coins, probably one reason why I like my Exp II.

No brag, a few years back I heard two sounds - aluminum and a quarter. I pinpointed and dug a barber quarter worth at the time about 50 bucks. I ran over to my buddy and showed him the coin.
I went back and using the pin-pointer found a beaver tail above and to the right of the quarter. Again, no brag just happy I decided to dig, most likely folks missed it using larger coils or swinging to fast.

^^^ perfect example. Imaging how much of your site is polluted by more shallow trash targets, then imagine what's hiding under them.

Yeah, that is just crazy to think about. But I choose to say positive and try different things with my machine, I love coin shooting it teaches you plenty.
