Charging Unit Issue

Yesterday I bought CTX 3030. But my happiness was not so long because the charging unit isn't working - light indicators not working, battery doesn't charging.
I'm very sad that new "out of the box" unit have such serious problem. Here is the video:
If anyone has that problem before - let me know, please.

Any "New 'out of the box' unit" is under warranty.
Minelab will replace the charger. Contact them.

Never heard of that before, thank goodness for the extra battery pack! Warranty or not that's just poor quality control but stuff happens and nobody is perfect.

Are you sure you are charging the Li-Ion battery pack and not the alkaline battery pack? Both battery packs fit the charger. The Li-Ion pack says "Li-Ion 7.2VDC 34Wh" on the back. The alkaline pack says "76WVNQ" on the back (at least mine does).

did you try a different plug, one that wasnt on a power strip splitter?

It could just be the adaptor not the charging unit (where the battery sits). Try a universal adapator that has the proper output in the range of the charging unit. I use an old cell phone adaptor that has 12V 1.5A with 18W Max output ... works fine now.

Yes, I put in the lithium battery, because I know that charging station not compatible with alkaline batteries.
And I took measurements from connector of Power Supply Adapter - it is OK, output voltage is 18V as promised.
Then I plugged usb lamp into usb port of charging unit - lamp works. I talked to one of specialists in electronics, he said that most likely the problem is in microcontroller - maybe the firmware wasn't loaded or the microcontroller faulty.

If your transformer has the slide on prongs for the relevant country , there may be a problem in the way those prongs make contact to the AC plug pack to connect to the AC power mains
If you have a separate alternative AC plug pack(12v transformer),try it or use your car adapter and see if it works on that.
Should work. Doing this will mean you isolate the problem and only require a AC plug pack with an adapter that works and probaly supplied to you under warranty.

I tried both of them (Car adapter and AC adapter). There is no difference - power indicator not working, battery doesn't charging.
Another video maybe help me to explain:

You could see the green light was lit on the AC adaptor.

Wiggle the DC plug leading in and watch for the green power present led to flicker etc... (bad/broken solder joint at DC input jack)

And certainly call ML.

...if so...go back...if not, get on the phone with Minelab ... for what the machine cost they should overnight a replacement to you
