I charged the deus through the computer for a short time and It indicated that it was charging .Will It do safe to do so?

Not recommended - the power pulled through a USB port is less than what you pull through the wall charger . . . . .

No problem but as the saying goes, Mr Sabisch is my dad . . . . . Andy works fine 
Really the only time you should use the USB port on the computer is for the update and then not with the cord that charges (3 ends) . . . . . make sure you use the USB cable that they provide or you get "unusual" results . . . . . . take my word for it
