Changing the coil on my Ace

MrGee

New member
I was standing next to me car last night changing the coil on my Ace 250 and it suddenly occurred to me: If I drop this nut, how am I gonna find it?

MrGee

That's a tuff one MrGee. was it dark out?was there big potholes around?were you parked on a steep slope where the nut could roll away? do you not see well beside your car? do you think the nut might hit the ground and bounce several feet in the air and get away from you? was your back aching to a point that you didn't think you could bend over to get the nut if it fell? were there bunches of nut eating creepys just waiting for you to drop it?were you parked on the edge of a cliff and the nut would fall hundreds of yards to its death?.......... I think you can buy extras from kellyco to have on hand. I need to do that. also need to get another rod/shaft or two so that I can have my coils set up and don't have to play with the aces nuts.;)

hmmm, maybe buy a extra lower extension and attach the other coil to it,

or

buy a metal plastic detector, I am sure they have one at harbor freight:rofl:

dld has the right idea. I have four coils fo my 250 and I have an extension rod attached to each of them. My fingers don't work like they used to and that alone makes changing them a lot easier. Also I heard that you can get plastic nuts and bolts in the bathroom section at LOWES. The ones for toilet seats.....

:usaflag:I bought an extra set on EBay for like ten bucks..shipping included. Carry a flashlight man..
