Changing programs

I set up some programs and saved them, I think, on s-1 and s-6. How do change from one progam to another after I have customized a program? Also how do I edit out a particular kind of trash on the fly when I am working with a particular program? I know this is elementary but I need help. No dealers near me.
Thank you

Be sure and hit the little save Icon if you want to keep a program you have changed.Next time you turn on the last will come up if you hit the power button QUICKLY..ie do not hold down or factory presets appear. To find your stored programs go to advanced menu select and scroll down ,below nails jewelryetc etc will be s1 thru s6 If you store a changed program just pick a slot and if it aint empty the new one will overite what was there,Hope this helps,You find the save icon on edit or learn little arrow down and box.(right side screen) charlie

Ok,,to edit trash..Scan ground for place with no null and no signal(clean) Minelab told me to turn sensitivity down or u will edit microwaves sources your shoe eyelets etc ..Ok I usually go down to about 6 on sens.Place object in clean spot..Learn screen small pixel on left selected. Check big "X"and scan trash till no signal is heard.Uncheck big "x" run over target,If audible do it agin.Small(hopefully) black island will show on your screen where trashy thang hit.Save it if u like, hope this rambling helps..charlie..Oh yeah now turn sensitivity back up,I always forget

If you want to edit out a particular trash item, on the fly, the easiest way is to take the offending item and reject it. You do this by hitting the Detect button until you get to the Learn screen. There you should see your current discrimination pattern. On the left side you'll see a checkmark or an "X"... if you want to reject the trash item, push the button to get the "X" to show. the lower left box shows how much will be rejected in the area of the trash item, push the button next to it to change the size of the box so you can control how big of an area gets blackened out. Waving the trash item over the coil several times should produce a blackened area on the screen where the trash item would have read. It's important to note that you don't want any extra chatter from the machine at this time or you'll see black boxes pop up in several areas. Lay your detector on target free ground or suspend it in the air on top of something so that it will not move... turn your sensitivity level way down to about 5, and make sure you get a steady threshold with no falsing before you begin the above procedure. Hope this helps, Mike.

thanks for helping him Mike,,I was shootin from the hip an may have ommitted some things that are instinctive now(button-pushin).One thing that is very important,as you brought out ,is lowering the sens to scan,Correct me if i am wrong however I did not see any mention of this in the manual or andy's book.Failing to do so causes little dinks on screen away from targeted item,,Course one can jump to edit and erase them..Have a good evening ..charlie,,

Charlie,
Turning down the sensitivty was in one of the dealers newsletter, with the tip when setting up a program to go staight in and out with the target at the center of the loop. and not accross the loop as you may get some false signals from the edge of the loop and get other areas rejected or accepted on the smart screen.
One more thing on the changing of the programs from one to another is to hit the clear button first on top of the list, then go to your program you have saved.
Rick
