Changing Housing on ace 100 series

Anyone got a simple solution to getting the coil wire CLIP loose on the inside of the housing, so to be able to replace the housing(casing). Seems it is a clamp on type , but I can't budge it. The battery compartment lugs are broke and so the whole thing has to be replaced. Thks.

Jack is like a cat on a hot tin roof, he's hard to catch.
