Changing Coil in Metal Detector

New member
Does anybody know if you can change the coil so that the detector is more selective and picks up less iron? I have a titanium camo Bounty Hunter from Cabela's.
Thank you

Mainekid,

Have you tried the different discrimination settings for the Titanium Camo? You shouldn't have to switch out the coil.....that is what the discrimination settings are for. You can find the manual here: http://www.detecting.com/pdffiles/MDELTT%20020609-reader.pdf

Yes. You can place a 4 inch coil on your detector which will narrow its detection cone allowing you to weave in & out of trashy areas more easily. However, the unit will still detect iron if you pass the coil over it if you are using the same settings as before when you had the problem. You just won't pick up as much iron you are beside.
