I never expected to find anything like this on the beach. But that is one of the good thing about metal detecting finding the unexpected. It is called a Toonie. A 1999 Canada $2.00 coin. (Nunavut) Outer ring: 100% nickel, Core: 92% copper, 6% aluminum and 2% nickel. Also found 11 quarters, 3 nickles, 3 dimes. pennies and a piece of doggie junk jewelery. The AT PRO
did good in the sand. Had fun.

welcome to Canada! :canadaflag: these are always found up here! adds up when u find 3 or 4 of these on a hunt :detecting:

This one is a long way from home. I found it on Sunset Beach in SC.

[size=large]found my one and only here in my county park back in Aug. have found Qtrs, and one dime and a few nickels and pennies but the Toonie was a special find for me. never seen one before. i'm only 2 - 3 hundred miles from Vancouver B.C. so maybe not so far from home but Reddog777's did a little traveling. don't look like it's worn out from traveling. hope you find some of it's cousins.

I found my first "duck dollar" yesterday here in Central Kentucky.....maybe a flight of those "snow birds" flew south to the beaches for the winter:thumbup:

[size=large]maybe their presence signals an invasion from Canada. trying to flood our economy with loonies and toonies. they do look better'n our coins. imo
