Cen-Tech Pinpointer Might Be A Winner

Picked up the Cen-Tech handheld MD for use as a pinpointer. Local Harbor Freight in Paducah was sold out last week but they called when one came in and set it aside. Great customer service and a hard to beat price at $16.00 and change.

It air tests just fine at a couple inches on a quarter and a bit less on dimes/pennies. Comes with a case, 9v battery, bright white LED to illuminate search area, and emits good loud tone. I realize it will almost certainly not perform as well as a Garrett Pro Pointer, but I'm looking forward to seeing just what it will do later this week as work permits. When I consider all the ways I've blown $16.00 or more in the past, this looks like a reasonable experiment for the money. I'm usually not more than a couple inches out on my digs, if that, so it could be just what is needed.

I'll post the results and in the meantime would be interested in hearing from any who've tried this unit out.

though it is more than 16 dollars LOL..it's the absolute best handheld pinpointer I have ever used..
However you are correct for $16.00 dollars you can't beat it.. In fact, you could buy 6 of them for the price of the Garrett. If it works for you..thats what counts..

Cen-Tech is a very good pointer for the money. I have two of them, i though while they had them in, i could use one and keep one for back up, that was about 2years ago and still have a new one in the box. The one i am using is still going strong. I could have got a $149.00 one and do the same thing. If something happened to mine tomorrow, OK, so i am out $16.00 not $149.00. I think you will like it. good luck with it, Oh if it quits in 3mo. take it back and they will replace it. Dean

Hey, someone in Feedback Forum has a Pro pointer for sale. Must have bought 2 or something. There's your chance. I've bought several detectors the last couple of years, but I never even think of replacing the Garrett.
