Cen-Tech Pin Pointer

subzero007

New member
Has anyone used the Cen-Tech Pin Pointer from Harbor Freight? A friend bought one from and said for the $20 it was a steel. Considering the others are around $100 and up. He said that there was a couple of simple mods he had to make but it was great. Any input is appreciated.

Exclusively! It has better performance than some of the "freebies" dealers give away. Everything about it is like the Bullseye except the enclosure. I painted a little epoxy around the tip of my second one because the end can pop out. It even has a sensitivity knob and light. At $16 you could by 5 before you buy one of the brand names. I bought one for me, my dad, and my son with a coupon for $45.19 with tax :)

007,I haven't used one but you usually get what you pay for.My advice just like the purchase of a metal detectors get quality merchandise.I bought one of those cheap 40 dollar pin pointers a while back and it lacked ergonomics and performance. To save a couple dollars isn't worth the extra work and carpel tunnel.

Hay Sub-Zero,

I got one for $15 plus tax.

It works OK.

Had to glue tha tip on. It pulled out. That made tha tip water proof also.

I just keep it for a back-up.

My main pin pointer is a Tiny Tec.

Neither of mine are tha expensive type.

But tha Tiny Tec works well for me.

I like one that doesn't detect too far.

The Tiny Tec is gettin hard to find though.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

I had one that did that and I took it back...dirt and everything :) It does come apart easily though and you could do some home maintenance without an issue. I want to see the inside of the bullseye -- it wouldn't suprise me if it's the same board.
