Cell phone @ 6-7"

Oddest thing... found a cell phone at 6-7" down today... but I found it in a area where I was plucking '60's & '70's coins from the same depth... obviously the ground has been turned at depth within the past 10-15 years.... I would have never know had the old flip phone not been discovered. Hopefully some older deeper coins were disturbed and will be found closer to the surface... the phone gave a signal like a silver coin. Very high tone, crisp and small.

Bet you didn't expect to dig a phone!

Does it still work ?

sure does... it was ringing while i was digging... just missed that call.

bet ya it was lost by a utilities worker. i work for the water dept. and have lost a couple phones in ditches cause the fall out of my shirt pocket or off my hip and before you know it...... it's covered in the backfill process before noticing it's gone. just a possibility.

That is definitely an odd object to find at that depth...

Can you hear me??

I lost mine on a job and had a coworker keep calling it. found it under 8 inches of crushed lime i was about to compact. Another i lost after climbing down inside a concrete form on Lock&dam 11 on the Mississippi. Concrete hose was stuck about 30 feet down and i climbed through all the rebar to get at it. Back on top, no phone. that ones never going to see daylight again. The big boss thought it was really funny till he lost his the next day in a porta-john, i really felt bad:pinnochio

We'll be finding a lot more cell phones in the future, people are losing them everyday now. Had this lady ask me one day while I was detecting if I had found her cell phone, she was driving up and down the park road looking for it. We told her no but we would keep looking for it, never did find it.
