Cazador did me in....................

I really wanted a new target ID detector but the wait was just too long and any info just not there.. I was hoping to use the Cazador this summer. In fact I don't even know if it was to be a target id unit!!! I looked around and compared to the aging Deleon all the other manufacturers had more up to date and feature rich offerings in the similar price range. I went with the Teknetics Omega 8000, the runner up was the Whites MX5. I enjoyed this forum and yes... from time to time I did stoke a few flames.I thank all of you who supported my posts...wow I got some good numbers there, wish you all the best. I sold off my Silver UMax, Eldorado and Toltec 2 as well. I enjoyed the crowd here but I'm now moving into Teknetics land.Ivan has ...left the building!!!

Yeah , Tesoro would have been better off not saying anything about a new machine.

IVAN, I enjoyed your post. Some times you just have to do whwt you need to do. Good luck and have fun. I will still see you on the Detectot Pro forum.... KEN

I had the Omega and Delta, Fisher F5, didn't like them, they liked EMI could never run them at full potential.
Besides they really masked a lot of targets...............they were not really fun to use.
Now the newer Omega is supposed to be better and less effected by EMI.
After about 6-7 months got rid of them..................
I would have kept the Eldorado, should have kept mine.
Went back to a couple beep and dig Tesoros and found a ton of coins and jewelry the Omega and Delta passed over.
I was amazed.

Anyways, he can always come back to the Land of Tesoro..................

Ivan, when the Caz comes out we will welcome you back , and you will be a man with more experience than before, its fun to try new machines, I am prone to that myself. no hard feelings

I bought the latest release of the Omega and it had terrible issues with EMI, so I sold it. My AT Pro is a much better detector for coin shooting. I use it sometimes when I'm in the mood for a detector with a visual ID, but it's not very well built and its balance is really bad. I'd take the G2 over the Omega any day. It handles EMI like a champ, has a good visual ID and does a good job at unmasking targets. I sure wish it had more than a two tone audio ID. My F75SE doesn't give a good visual number ID like the Omega does, but its audio ID is right on the money. That's what I go by mostly anyway. It handles EMI a lot better than the Omega does

I've tried a lot of different detectors, but when it comes to having fun, I grab a Tesoro. They are hard to beat and find stuff that other detectors miss.

If I had not found Tesoro I would be swinging a teknetics, Too bad I missed the sale of your Tesoro. Herd , I'm looking for my second one.

Good luck

I hope you get along well with the Teknetics Omega, a lot of folks do. But, if you decide you liked the Tesoros better it doesn’t look like you will have any left to go back too, except by repurchase.

I like to try new detectors too. In the past 2 years I tried a Fisher F5 and a Whites Coinmaster GT, but I did not sell all my other Tesoro Detectors. Although I have gone from one Tesoro to another several times.

This is a great forum to hang out on even if a fellow doesnt have a Tesoro...good stuff to learn, and some great dedicated hunters here...:please:

Instead of leaving i am just arriving if you like,i have many high end detectors for various detecting tasks over here in the UK but have recently lost the enthusiasm in detecting after many many years,so what i have done is mothballed all my detectors and only using my Laser B3 which is the UK's version of the Bandido.

This machine has become a cult classic machine on say roman and saxon sites with high amounts of trash but a simple 'beep and dig' Tesoro based detector has bought back the fun and enjoyment rather than having millions of permutations of adjustments like other machines.

Its all about having fun and enjoying detecting and i have really started enjoying it again.

I tried the T2 and gamma 6000...I really liked the T2 it was light and deep and did fairly well around nail ridden cellar holes. It did just as good as any tesoro for me....This year I have gone metal detecting only a hand full of times...yes I'm sad...however more upsetting then my lack of metal detecting is tesoros lack of comunication and lack of launching a new product...I have bought well over 6 new tesoros in the past and countless used ones.....I'm a good customer who belives in there product. Maybe I just need to be patient...... So Tesoros. Im Being patient but throw us "your customers" a bone if it's good or bad info/news and gives is a heads up guys on the report... Of the cazador...thanks and have a great week Tesoros...send one my way for a great unbiased review of the long awaited cazador !

I'll pipe in here as a new fan of Tesoro and the beep and dig approach.

I'd rather wait for a new Tesoro that will probably be carrying over their refined discrimination circuit than to waste more time and money on digital target ID's and all the fluff.

I've only owned one low-end Teknetics (Gamma) and it was nice and deep but yeah, high sens. to EMI and falsed like crazy. Was always a Whites fan. The last new Whites I owned was the MX5. The threshold drove me flat-out insane not to mention how poorly it separated targets and it didn't even touch gold.

I agree Tesoro made a mistake announcing a new machine long before completion. I too have been waiting like a rabid MD'ing dork and Tesoro has SUCH a laid-back, low profile that it's bordering on frustrating just waiting for the thing. Not a peep. Nothing. But wait I will.....

Meantime I'll use my modified Classic IDx and my Compadre and find the stuff you target ID guys are passing up.

Tesoro needs to MARKET. They need to show and tell the MD'ing hobbyists why their machines are desirable over the TID's, color displays, 1000 tone showpieces of technology. But again, they have such a low profile and they seem to like it that way. Hope they don't become a footnote in the history of the hobby because, IMHO their products rock.
