Catching up on Posts for last three weeks - Silver and Gold

OUTATIME

Member
Havn't posted anything in the last three weeks, noticed that the gold items have been rather sparse with everyone else too, just a few lucky pirates here and there. Is that the way it usually goes this time of year?, is this the calm before the storm? I hope so, I've found a few good items but the toe rings and other junk jewelry have all dried up; there is almost nothing out there!!

I did manage to snag three rings back on the 18th of February, only one small gold though. I did find out one thing - negative low tides combined with high winds blowing in just the right direction can really move some water. It was amazing, the tide never came in, the water never moved in more that about 10 yards at the most!

Then last week I decided to try out the new wetsuit for the first time, it was freezing cold! I managed to snag a large silver bracelet, it was about the only find of the day. Thanks to the Wetsuit, When I came out of the water I was literally sweating!

Today was a little better, at least I struck some gold. I got the wetsuit on and headed out into the cold water again, but targets were few and far between, only pennys and pulltabs. After about an hour of that I tried the middle of the beach, even worse - Nothing! Then I decided to go for the really dry sand up top and thats when I snagged the gold earring. It was 14k and weighed 2.5 grams, not bad for an earring.
