Castle Remains

These remains date from the 13th century and were built by the Normans as they conquered the British Isles. Originally the castle was just earth works, - 12th century - then as they became established they built the stone castle. It stands on the banks of the Ewenny River in South Wales and prevented other invaders sailing up the river.
