I have a piece of cannister and its a tantalizing clue to where there must be or was an undiscovered camp. My realtor gave it to me and told me where it came from, his father-in-law's backyard. I went over to his father-in-law's and detected around the area it came from and it became apparent that it was deposited there from somewhere else, in fill dirt ( it was recovered just under the surface and I detected a Wendy's wrapper 8" deep nearby). When they scraped down the dirt to get the fill they came down on top of the camp. Could be the camp is all gone and spread out as fill dirt or could be resting just under the dirt under a series of high tension power lines, just a few hundred yards away from the development. Either way, its not a pretty picture. I think we'll attempt to check it out this winter, but I'm not hoping for great things.
