caspersen beach fl question

Hello all,

My family and I are taking a trip to Fl in April. We normally go to Caspersen Beach to hunt for shark teeth. This year, I would like to bring along the Excal and do some detecting too. I was wondering if anyone knew if it is legal to detect on Caspersen or Venice Beach. Also, I am normally a freshwater hunter and I probably won't catch low tide on the beach, so I was wondering what area of the beach is best to detect. Should I go to the exposed shell line, the shell line in the water, or in the wet sand?

Any help/advice appreciated.

Thanks to all,
Barb

Yes it is legal. I have hunted Englewood and Venice beaches quite often. There are several websites that will give to tide predictions for the time you are there. I have this built into my phone. If you have a smart phone there might be a app for it.I have found several rings on Venice beach next to shore where people dig for sharks teeth. Good luck and HH.

Sorry don't know much about Casperson Beach.
