Cashed In All My Gold Chips Today.....Going To Buy The Wifey A Car :cheekkiss:

It's finally here. I hunted for many years, sorted and removed all my gold finds, packaged them and sent them to a precious metal recycler about a month ago. I have been anxiously waiting to see how much it would be. My cheque turned out to be a whopping $9,387.80.

My Garrett metal detectors got over 90% of the gold that I sent to be turned into cash. ..... My wife, 4 kids and I held back some of the nicer jewellery, and the amount shown is what was left from all the many gold items found on land, snow and in the water.

I cashed in on my gold recently, as the price got up to over $1,400, and I figured it was time. Will it go higher? Time will tell, and it depends who you talk to.
ARA is one of the best places to send your gold items into. They give you 98% of the current spot value for gold for that particular day. Here's a link to the ARA in case you want some more information:

And...what will I buy? A Car for my lovely wifey :inlove:

You did very well and congrats are definitely in order.

Fantastic! That is what it's all about. Great pile of gold. I used ARA over the holidays and was very satisfied with the result but I can only afford a new rod for the Excal II and a new sand scoop. Not a CAR! lol Great Job. :clapping:

I used ARA recently and was VERY pleased with their service. When I used them they were NOT buying diamonds. Did you have any diamonds in the gold you sent in? If so, how did ARA treat you on that?

Thanks,
Chris

Great job John. I've been reading your posts on the Garrett forum for a couple of years and know you work hard for your finds. Congratulations.

Great finds John, wtg.Ihope that I am wrong, but a friend told me that any transaction over$500.00is now reported to IRS.I hope that he is wrong:surprised::ranting:anyone else hear anything?:usaa:

We have local hunter who has been very successful over the years, and he will only deal with ARA. He told me one day recently that he had never sold to them where he did not get what he calculated the value to be. As you say 98% of melt is a fair deal, when you look at what others offer. I just wish I had a pile to send them

That was a Great assortment of Gold and I know the wifey will let you keep on Detecting. It's been along time since I've hit Gold on the Carolina's Coast or any Silver Coins. We haven't had a Good North Eastern in along time. I've even been to the Outer Banks and still no luck on old coins. goldnugget=Charlotte,N.C.

I wish they would melt down your Gold and charge a smelting fee. I would like to have mine melted down and sent back in small gram bars.-goldnugget-Charlotte.N.C.
