Wrote in recently about "falsing" on my DFX. I was able to successfully eliminate it by extending the length of the shaft one more notch. I'm 5' 6", and use a" shorty" shaft. I had it in the shortest possible configuration. By just lenthening the rod by one hole, the noises stopped. So I'm happy, and back in the hunt. Thanks for the responses.

I'm glad you solved the problem, I would never guessed that was the problem.

Do you have any metal in your boots or shoes you where when detecting? Even the lace eyelets can cause falsing when you get to the ends of each swing where the coil is closest to your feet.

Thanks Larry. Actually, I found out the hard way. I bought a new coil. Then a new DFX, both with the same results. As soon as I lengthened the rod, the falsing stopped on both units. But now I have a back-up unit. Take care.
