Check out the workmanship on this bullet. This is my first carved bullet. The guy had talent!

yeah, thats a heckuva carving, and a great find. thanks for info on piece, didnt really know what it was. i sure would like to see more posts and pics on this site, we must be a secretive lot! so many relics, so little time... hh,
 
The soldiers used to carve them up for chess pieces. Have found one that was hollowed out and used as a fishing sinker. Still has the line cut in it!
Yours is the best that I have seen. Took some craftsmanship to produce that one!
 
Nice bullet. I've found some strange ones over the years. Here are some of them, along with my carved "chess piece" bullet on the bottom.
