Carnival Clad

Every year this carnival comes to town, so a fellow has to hustle on over dark and early and if you time it just right, as the rigs are pulling out, you have first shot at this place..which I did...[attachment 291705 ccb.jpg]
If a guy sets up light and moves through the junk, working the deep grass especially where the entrance to a ride was, that seems to be the clad heavy areas...a person can sort of tell what ride/vendor was at a particular location based upon the patterns in the grass and of course what kind of junk is laying around...sun up and gone![attachment 291706 cca.jpg]
Heres the take, 5.44, a couple of "pintle pins" (I've been looking for those!) a fuse, and trash that sounded good...some of the coins were a little down in the dirt from previous years, but its really a surface run and gun and get gone type of hunt, only a screwdriver required to sort of part the grass over a signal. [attachment 291707 cc.jpg] Easy less than an hour effort, sort of makes up for those horrible days where an guy cant find a thing for hours, which will be beach hunting for me, unless this type of opportunity jumps out... Mud

Nice quick clean up!
Those pins and bolts left off of rides do not bode well for confidence in the safety factor!
Don't let osha see those, the rides might not be coming back if they did!

Mud nothing gets past you.

I guess the owner of the carnival does'nt trust his employees a whole lot...they sell paper tickets at a main gate for the rides, so the only stuff lost is random clad and perhaps some jewelry...sort of a bummer...the majority of the clad came from one specific location..and it was right under a truck that was pulling out as I got there, I am wondering if some of the carnys sweep the place with a detector after tear down, or perhaps nightly? I found no tokens like I usually do......had this been a cash carnival, like in the olden days, a guy would have really cleaned up...I thought about those pins the same way you did Ed! Next town, lookout!

Metalfun, I do hunt the Moon! :crylol:..

That is the phases of it.....Full moons pull up old silver and paper, dark moon (like tonight), pulls up gold...so I'm gold hunting for the next few days/nights, graduating to clad as it waxes, (just to keep me in the gas)...hitting silver again as it wanes and goes full, then clad all the way down, and back to gold on the beach in the dark!..

Really I hunt what the moon does to humans, ask any ER nurse, cop, insane asylum orderly, or my wife what effect the Full moon has on people...folks get all kinds of squirrelly on Fulling moons,! ... So I hunt heavy drug deal gone bad wads of cash and old silver on the Fulling moon and old gold on the dark...as a former trapper, I always caught the greatest and most valuable critters on the dark side of the moon...so to me, thats where the gold is...I know this is up to interpretation, but thats what Ive experienced on my brief stint on this particular Planet...some say full moons are better for subsistance hunters/trappers...but I have paid careful attention, and its always been the dark side of the moon where I do my best..! (you watch the forums, see how they light up with big gold finds in the next few days)

As you have probably figured out by now...I dont sleep a whole lot, unless its a few hours in the middle of the day, or when I'm driving,...nothing worth a hoot can be found in the middle of the day..besides, its too hot, and too many damn people around or calling me wanting something or another..
Mud.

Dang it Mud:rage:, since this made the news I "dare" say you missed these wads of "deals gone bad" cash!!:rofl:

Moon and moods. My sister worked at a state asylum for 25 years....she talked about a difference with the moon phases. She said the place was more chaotic at the full moon. They shut those places down, many went to the streets....yikes!

Sooner or later, sooner or later...a fellow just has to be at the wrong place at the right time for a big cash grab like that...the trick is not getting killed or seen in the process...so I dart in and out, strategic like, I am patterning the activity and possible drop/deal locations, problem is, a guy just cant stick around long enough to obtain good enough data to get there ahead of time or even 5 seconds later..so it will have to be one of those lucky circumstances of being first on the scene after a misunderstanding that occurred during a large transaction...sort of like in that Movie, "No Country for Old Men" ....lots of adventure awaits those that leave the house..even if its just in their imagination!..
