Can someone tell me the best place with good prices for display cases to put finds in. I am interested in the cardboard looking ones in different sizes. They look like black leather or something.
I found some on the internet for about 4 bucks each but I have to buy a case of 24....Dont really need that many and I am looking for different sizes. Just wondering where you guys get yours and how much should they cost.
Thanks

Thanks Dave. I have tried the craft stores and no luck. Haven't tried the coin shops. I just thought that maybe someone who has these could tell me where they got them.

Our local coin shop has a good selection of the smaller ones and I order the larger ones from Jewelry-Displays-and-More. Are these the kinds of displays you are looking for?

BTW...........the buckle is a fake, but looks good in the display..........

Since one of our sponsors sells them, I took out the link..........but you can google it.

I know Kellyco has them in stock always

I found these but I really dont want to buy a case of just one size.. Dont really want to pay 15 or 20 each.

These display cases are called Riker Display Mounts. I too went through what you are going through a little over a month ago. I wanted to put together a display as a sign of my appreciation for a friend who let me detect their property. However, shadow boxes, and the 8X12 and 12X16" Riker boxes bought on their own start costing upwards of $15-20. They weigh a bunch and even if you can find them for a cheap price, the shipping is often times more than the cost of the display. I hate to tell you but I ended up buying 3 cases of them, 1 ea. of the 6X8 8X12 and 12X16. That's 24 ea of the first 2 and 12 of the 3rd. Shipping cost me almost $60. Am I crazy? I'll tell you after tomorrow. I belong to a pretty good sized metal detecting club. I brought the cases to last months club meeting, priced them basically at my cost, with very little "profit" and sold about half of them. I'm bringing the remaining to this months club meeting and hopefully will sell enough to break even and come away with a few free ones. This was the only way I could think of to get them at an affordable price, and my fellow club members benefitted from my leg work. All and all I sold them for $4, $6, and $8 each, far below what anyone was paying for them at local dealers. Hope this helped.

Great idea Jai! Magic could go to his local club and they could pool their money. That's yet another things that can make clubs valuable - buying power - whether it be coins, accessories, or other related items. I like it.

Just an update, I'm about $5 away from breaking even on my Riker Display endevour after this past club meeting. I didn't sell as much this one as the last, which I expected. Our membership is around 120 people, and we usually get about 50-60 people per meeting. I don't know how that compares to other clubs, whether that is larger in size or normal, but it had much to do with my success. I did price each case a little bit above my cost, about $1 for the 6X8 and about $2 for the 8X12 and 12X16. I did this because I knew I wouldn't be able to sell them all, so as to recoup my money a bit quicker. (even those markups allowed me to sell them at an extreme discount to our members compared to anything I could find out there for single case purchases.)

Well, good luck, hope this information helped out.
